As a math teacher at heart, I understand the need for data and how to implement it. Knowing how to read data reports and effectively communicate the information is vital for today's leaders. As a teacher, I often need data that has a purpose and was built with eliminating
problematic concerns with student struggles. As a leader, data is useful to help teachers and other educators see where the gaps are and where the learning needs reinforcement. Data in terms of surveys and polls is also very useful to gauge the temperature of the teachers and staff. Other important roles of a leader that I experienced were around master scheduling, meeting scheduling and school year planning. I was also heavily engaged in planning and designing a new school. We got to work with the school board, the community and investors. It was truly an overwhelming experience! |
